LSS Weekly Communication – December 12th

Uy’ skweyul Ladysmith Secondary Students and Families,

It is hard to believe that next week is the last week before Winter break. Our school community has been filled with excitement. On Wednesday, we hosted a band concert where our band showcased what they have been working hard on for the last several months. We extend our gratitude to Beth Cuss, student teacher, for her effort in putting this wonderful event together! We also had our first lockdown drill of the year this week. Thank you to our local RCMP detachment for coming and helping with the drill and for staff and students for taking the drill seriously.

Next week, we are looking forward to a spirit week. Many thanks to our student council for organizing this fun event:

Monday: PJ day & hot chocolate in the foyer at lunch

Tuesday: holiday sock day

Wednesday: red vs. green theme & dodgeball game in the gym

Thursday: ugly sweater day

Friday: gym riot (dress as your team colour)

Finally, we want to take a minute to share our appreciation with the Ladysmith Eagles who generously donated just under $7000 to our Hunger Bites Program, helping to provide healthy breakfast, lunch, and snacks to students in our school community. We are so grateful to the Eagles for their ongoing support.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!

Thanks kindly and hay cep’ qa,

Shelley Gvojich & Alistair King
